Cause and Effect
Before a person begins to do a good deed, and we had encouraged him to carry it out, this is called "attaining blessings through encouragement".
When a person is in the process of carrying out a good deed, and we supported and helped him out, this is called "attaining blessings through charitable acts".
In the past, I used to make comments like " If I'm as rich as him, I'll aslo donate millions of dollars". Later, I learnt that I should not say that, instead I should praise the millionaire who donated the money. We should say "随喜赞叹". By rejoicing, we also share his merits. I'm not after the merits, I understand now that we should praise all the people who do good deeds, afterall they deserve our praises.
